How is my pet prepped for surgery?

Our veterinarians usually perform a blood screen test to make sure your pet is healthy enough to undergo surgery. Pre-operative health screenings provide information on your pet’s baseline health so we know the best way to proceed. We can make better informed decisions on the right amount of anesthesia for your pet during surgery.

What surgical procedures does your hospital offer?

  • Spay and neutering
  • Cystotomy ( Bladder stone removal)
  • Dental surgery
  • Orthopedic surgery
  • Soft tissue surgery
  • Removal of foreign objects

Our team can help you dismiss your fears about surgery and give your cherished pets the best possible outcome. Call us at 204.452.9010 to schedule your pet’s surgery.

Does my pet need to fast before surgery?

Yes. We advise pet owners to withhold food or water up to 8 hours before surgery. It’s also a general rule that your pet must be up to date with their vaccinations before surgery. If there are other special preparations, our team will inform you as they may depend on the surgery your pet is scheduled for.
